The very first permanent photograph was taken in 1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, and it took 8 hours of exposure time to capture!

The first camera ever made was called the Camera Obscura, which was basically a dark room with a tiny hole that projected an upside-down image on the opposite wall!
