Basic Information and History

Crater Lake National Park is located in southern Oregon, USA, and it’s home to the deepest lake in all of North America!

Crater Lake was formed about 7,700 years ago when a massive volcano called Mount Mazama erupted and collapsed, creating a giant bowl shape called a caldera!
