A man and a lion learn a valuable lesson about perspective and the power of storytelling during a stroll in the park.

The Man and the Lion

Share Story

One bright and sunny afternoon, a man and a lion were strolling through a park together. As they walked, they started talking about strength and bravery. Soon, the conversation turned into an argument.

The man, proud of human accomplishments, said, “Of course, humans are stronger than lions. We’ve beaten you many times!” The lion, calm and wise, listened carefully but didn’t agree.

Just then, they came across a tall, grand statue. It showed a man standing victoriously over a lion, with his foot on the lion’s back. The man pointed to it and said, “See? That proves it! Even this statue shows a man defeating a lion.”

The lion looked at the statue and smiled. “Ah,” the lion said, “but that statue was made by a man. If lions made statues, they would show the lion winning every time.”

The man paused, realizing the lion had a point. He thought about it and nodded. Stories and pictures can change depending on who is telling them, and sometimes they don’t show the whole truth.

The lion and the man continued their walk, both thinking about how important it is to remember that everyone sees things from their own side.

Moral:

Every story depends on who’s telling it. It’s important to consider different viewpoints before believing something.

Parenting Tip: Teach your child to consider other people’s perspectives. Use this story to encourage discussions about fairness and how different people (or animals!) might see the same event in different ways.
